It seems that USB2.0 isn't as much a priority as I'd once thought, as it seems my camera that they've been using only supports USB1.1 :rolleyes:
Since these two configurations seem to fit their needs perfectly I'm going for:

NVIDIA has agreed to provide a replacement of the NVIDIA GPU or MCP to Class Members who purchased certain versions of some Dell, Inc. or Apple Inc. notebook computers that contain an NVIDIA chip and who send in a valid Claim Form and appropriate supporting documentation.

The iMac uses a desktop CPU while the Samsung uses a mobile CPU.
But the i7 2630qm beats the i3 2100 CPU in the iMac by a wide margin. In a passmark benchmark the is scores over 6,000 compared to the i3 which scores almost 4,000.
Here are the benchmark links:

I'm thinking it might also have to do with competitors. They don't want to reveal too much, only to have a competitor make the same feature at the same time or even before it gets officially released.

The only reason I have two partitions is because of the Panther beta - I didn't want to install it over Jaguar and then go through hell to get it back again if Panther was too buggy (which it is).

It makes my Pismo feel like he can still be useful. I'm primarily in it to help out with Mac Cow Disease. Someone has to look after the cows. Especially if there's a chance it could spread to my prescious Mooses (I'm a moose lover.)
While I owe my start to MacRumors, I actually formed my own little team with the few computers I have control over. I enjoy seeing my team ranking slowly moving up the ranks (we're at around 2430 as a team now!)
Since my Pismo is the team captain (though obviously not the lead producer), it makes him feel good, too.
Edit - the scary part is, I had no intention of typing "Mac Cow". I really did mean Mad Cow. And, yet, I did it twice. Sometimes I think my fingers have a mind of their own. I also can't type "worship". It always comes out "workshop", since I work in continuing ed. Bad fingers!

But when u first connect it to iTunes it's gonna ask you to update to 4.3 which we will just decline for the time being....

So true. Between my SLR, Samsung Focus, and Cannon SD780, I see no reason to keep my P&S, except that I couldn't sell it for much, and it's a quality camera in case I ever need to take a camera somewhere and don't want to use my cellphone? Do situations like that even exist?

Unfortunately it isn't since they aren't using the same chipset.
You could, however, upgrade the 8-core base model to a 12-core or upgrade the quad core base model to a single 6-core.

Well the Mac 9600 (the one I borrowed the video card for) won't really boot up and the buyer doesn't need it anymore. I should be fine for now but, if anyone has a card still I'd be interested. :)
