Great. Really screwed a lot of the world on pricing. In the UK, we have 20% VAT, but that doesn't mean that Apple should then scrape an additional 200 on top of this thinking users won't notice.
And don't just say it's more expensive. They are all manufactured in China.

That's the normal Mighty Mouse pane. It changes to that when you're using one. I can see you've never used one...
Um, I'm using one right now. The preference pane shown on the site is different to the preference pane I have.
Here's the site:

Here's the one from my Sys Prefs:

Might want to get your eyes tested cause you're not seeing too well.

Are you talking about this article (http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-20031434-64.html?tag=posts;msg5118115) from back in February that has been discussed ad infinitum on here?

Are you referring to a newer cnet story? Do you have a link? Thanks, I am personally holding off and really hoping its true... we'll see!
Also clock rate is not the only factor for determining chip speed... in fact it is a very small factor. The new processor is not just .17 hz faster, its a whole new architecture. Its why the 2.0 Ghz i7 in the 2011 MBPs are faster than the a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 Prescott from 2004.
It was a video released on 4/8/2011.
I cant link it since CNET doesnt actually show URL for videos.
Go to Cnet, Videos, Apple Byte, and it will be the second video on the list.
Yea, I have been corrected in that, but the argument on GPU still stands.

Grab yourself a copy of xdelta (http://xdelta.org/) and do your fancy small update package yourself. There's even no need to look at Google, this was common practice on Gentoo GNU/Linux years ago (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=318671). I remember running a satellite server myself. However, that were ISDN/Analog/DSL 765k days, who on 16MBit cares whether the updates are 30 or 300MB anymore, as long as Apple hosts the files?

It's not a marginal increase. The Sandy Bridge 1.4Ghz ULV (expected to be in the new 11") is 40% faster than the C2D LV 1.86Ghz chip that's currently in the base 13" in some benchmarks.
Good to hear, thanks for the heads up. I'll live with the Intel IGP if that's the case.

I'm going to assume it doesn't mean that you actually control the thing without touching it, rather it just makes the wheel disappear when you aren't holding it. That seems to be a more useful idea.
I mean, otherwise, it's a useless feature, except to prevent screen scratching.
That is more likely. Even if a user did not have to touch the screen it would be extremely foreign to people to type or control a piece of hardware without actually touching itair typing. Look at the new ATMs that are controlled on screen. You can see people reactions to the machine when it does not operate as assumed. They press harder on the screen

This is incorrect.
Microsoft's Vista EULA says:
4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.
This means you can't use the *same* installation of Vista Home inside a virtualization technology on the "licensed device".
This DOES NOT mean you can't use it by itself in a virtualization product on any platform. If that instance of Vista is not installed anywhere else, there is no preexisting "licensed device".
The reason this is included in the EULA is because Vista Business and Ultimate actually include additional licenses specifically so the same license can be used to also run in a virtualization environment on the same device where Vista is already installed.
So, the higher end versions of Vista actually include more in terms of virtualization licensing than any other commercial OS.
In any case, all versions of Vista can be legally used standalone in a virtualized environment, such as Parallels or VMWare.
WELL, if it will work.... maybe this is just some people worrying aloud ahead of time so MS doesnt pull any funny business.
my bet is MS will have windows packages for mac.

Why?
I thought AT&T's buyout means T-Mobile is going bye-bye?
408 area code, that means cali. is that steve jobs' personal number? :P
They won't. Even if this deal gets approved, T-Mobile will remain a separate company. Everything will remain as it is, except the fact that all revenue will go to AT&T.

They ought to have a 'classic' mode for iCal so people can choose...i know it won't happen though
Great. Then we could choose between a 'classic' and a last century look. :p
As someone mentioned before, I find it hard to believe that a company with a designer talent which Ive is, would dare to publish an eye turd like that?
If they really want software to resemble real world objects, then please make iCal to look like the Pirelli Calendar...

It would seem unusual to give a company with 10% of the revenue at least 35% rebate over a company with 90% of the revenue. This looks very much anti-competitive to me.
They have even much cheaper downloads sometimes; I suspect some were pricing mistakes. The iTunes LP "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz was 1.69 (18 songs, one video + extras), probably a mistake :-) "24 Hour of Classical Music" is exactly that for 7.99.
You know that you have to pay tax on all items that you buy without paying sales tax? Most people just "forget" to tell the tax man.
anti-competitive when the prices goes down..??
wow, which planet do you live on..?

Don't you just love AT&T? :D
(BTW, there's a few good reasons I use Verizon.)
One of those reasons is that there is no AT&T signal at my house.

Wow- thanks for the compliment. That was very nice. Yeah, he was a very difficult person to deal with. You're quite welcome.
I watched it once and was also amazed it was so popular. It's so run-of-the-mill.I love Maher, but most lame comedy ever? What about Me and the Chimp, It's About Time, Captain Nice, The Lucy Show, Family Matters, Webster, and Glenn Beck?
I would like to see them pull off a change of actor for once, without changing the character. I think it's an insult to the audience's intelligence that networks think we can't accept someone else in the role. They always go for the knee-jerk reaction, which is to kill off the character. Give us some credit, and a chance for another actor to make the role his own. It's not like it's unheard of. How many James Bonds have there been??

So the figure head who has had little to nothing to do with Al-Queada (a leaderless brand name of extremists at this point) since 9/11 is dead. Woo hoo. Meanwhile, terrorism in the world has only increased since the "war on terror" (something that was predicted and well known by US planners when gearing up for it).
Time to start the USA chants.
