I had the same issue and I didn't write down the receipt number and USCIS customer support wasn't helpful to get the number. Now I am stuck and can send the support document only after receiving notification mail.

I got my Finger Printing notice today and I was comparing it with the 485 receipt. The 485 receipt had A# as A9xxxxxxx ( A with 8 digits) as the receipt number while the FP notice had A09xxxxxxx as the number.
The FP notice has a "0" after the "A" and the 485 notice does not have that 0. All the digits are the same but for the 0. Any one has it similar. do i need to worry abt it? any suggestions? You think i need to get it corrected?

We have a situation and need your advice on this:
We have approved I140 with company A. Company A merged with Company B, and created a new company. Our amendmant was filed for new company and is still pending. I have also a copy of my approved I140 with company A.
My I485 has passed the 180 days.and I have my EAD, and AP, and done FP.
I have an offer from different company from the same industry sector where I have been working for past many years and same job profile.
I have the following questions:
1. Can I use AC21 portability and take up the new job?
2. Do I have to wait for the amendmant I140 approval?? Or can I change with the approved I140 of company A, and 180 days past after amendmant has been filed.
3. is it true that the employer doesnt have control over pending I140 after 180 days past for 485?
Please help with your information....It will help us decide.

YOu can transfer to Company C, if you are still working with Company A use the same documents for transfer and not the company B.

Hi, I am actually in a similar boat as you. Though I have an April 2006 PD for EB3 and am now on EAD as well.
Question1: Is it better to try and port my EB3 to EB2 with a different employer. Isn't GC for future employment ? If so, can't I negotiate with another employer and file new labour under EB2 and try and port my priority date from EB3 ? Also, if I do this will my current employer find out ?

My Lawyer said that the Premium Processing for I-140 will be again available from 08/16/2007, he said he knows that 100%. Did someone have some information about this ??. Can this be true??
If this is true then some of the concurrent filers will try to upgrade them to PP.I will be surprised if they do that. But crazier things have happened.

For the past 10 to 13 years people are waiting on the EB category Queue, and they are all tax payers as same as US Citizen.
some of them are in H1B status, in this economy it is not necessary that they should always have a job, so if the congress
is not acting on the Immigration bill as soon as possible, they are making the Legals also Illegals pretty soon, with the
USCIS nasty memo for the Employer-Employee relationship, getting an H1 extension became another Oil spill in the Gulf Coast!
This is not a joke, and politicians care little about this, because they cannot manipulate anything here, This is the year and time
to pass immigration bill. If not then immigration issue may not see light.
What about great Indian origin media tycoons Sanjay Gupta & Fareed Sakaria, why cant they make a issue on the media about this.
All Indian origins except some bunch of people, are waste and just eat, drink & be merry caes, and they don't care for anything.

"This is becoming for high-tech companies a huge retention issue," Krumholtz said. "We will start to see highly valued tech employees emigrate back to their home countries."

i am switching employers and i have about 10k in my 401k with current employer. my next employer does not have the option to start 401k until after one year of service.i am looking for options to rollover my 401k to a IRA in a company. does anyone have any recommendations?thanks in advance
I still have my 401K from my old job that I quit about 3 yrs back into the same (company's) account. The reason I didn't roll them into IRA is that I prob would have made the same selection of mutual funds that I currently have in my 401K. The company is stable so no worries there. Point is, move your money only if you think it will serve you a better purpose or else wait for your new 401K to kick in and after that just roll over the other account directly into the new one...
Just my 2 cents, of course...
